Wine Tasting

$119/person + $379 base fee1 hour

A classic three-wine tasting led by a sommelier: grape, region, aroma, tasting notes and pairings.

What your sommelier covers

Grape
The variety in the glass and what it is known for.
Region
Where it grows and how that shapes the wine.
Aroma
What to smell for before the first sip.
Tasting notes
What to notice on the palate, and how to describe it.
Pairings
Which foods each wine suits: cheese and charcuterie, spreads, crackers, olives.

Good to know

  • The wine ships to each guest; they bring their own glasses. Continental US shipping is included.
  • An adult (21+) signs for every alcohol delivery.
  • No wine shipping to Delaware, Utah, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia and Arkansas; guests there, or anyone who prefers, get a non-alcoholic kit.

Wine Tasting suits a client thank-you, an end-of-quarter toast or a leadership offsite, where conversation matters more than competition. For a big all-hands, or a team with many non-drinkers, a coffee or hot chocolate tasting keeps everyone in the same glass.

Which tasting reaches your whole team?

Wine ships within the continental US. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate go much further, and none of them contain alcohol.

Kits going outside the continental US add a per-guest shipping charge; see how global shipping works. Mixed team? Run two tastings side by side, wine for some and coffee for others, and bring everyone back together at the start and the end. That is how our multi-event programs work.

How a hosted virtual tasting runs

No wine knowledge needed. The host does the explaining; your team does the tasting.

  1. 1

    Kits ship

Send us addresses and every taster gets a kit at their door. Wine needs an adult to sign for it.

  2. 2

    Taste together

Your host walks the group through each pour on camera, with time for questions and favorites.

  3. 3

    Talk it over

Compare notes, pick a favorite and swap pairing ideas. Nobody needs to know anything about wine to join in.

Running your own? Pick three easy-to-find bottles, send the list two weeks ahead and print a simple tasting sheet with grape, region, aroma and notes for each. It works best when everyone can buy the same wines locally, which gets harder the more spread out your team is.

A hosted tasting puts the same kit in front of every guest and a sommelier in charge of the conversation, so the organizer gets to sit back with a glass. Hybrid team? Put the host on a room screen the office can see and hear.

Pair it with something

Ways teams build a bigger event around a tasting.

  • Wine and charcuterie

Book Charcuterie Board Making alongside the wine tasting as one multi-event program, so every glass has a board beside it.

  • Clients and partners

A hosted tasting is an easy thank-you for a client team, with kits shipped to their doors and branded packaging on request. See client events.

  • The holiday party

Planning a December tasting? Book at least 3 weeks out, and longer if anyone is abroad. More in virtual holiday party ideas.

Kits can carry branded packaging, company swag or a tailored theme; customizations need at least 4 weeks' notice.

Virtual wine tasting questions

How does a virtual wine tasting work?

Every guest gets a wine kit at their door. On the day, a sommelier introduces each wine on your video call, covering the grape, the region, the aroma and the tasting notes, then shows how each one suits different food pairings. It runs about an hour.

What's in the wine tasting kit, and who hosts?

Wine Tasting is our classic three-wine tasting workshop, with the wine shipped to each guest and an expert sommelier leading it live. Guests bring their own glasses. The sommelier covers common pairings like cheese and charcuterie, spreads, crackers and olives.

Which states can you ship wine to?

Wine kits ship within the continental US, except to Delaware, Utah, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia and Arkansas, because of shipping regulations. Guests in those states can get a non-alcoholic kit. Every alcohol delivery needs an adult (21+) signature.

Can non-drinkers and international guests join?

Yes. Non-alcoholic wine kits are available. For a team outside the continental US, pick a tasting that ships further: Coffee Tasting, Tea Garden & Tasting and Hot Chocolate Bomb ship worldwide, with a per-guest add-on outside the continental US.

How far ahead should we book a virtual wine tasting?

At least 3 weeks, so the kits can ship and every adult signature can happen; international tastings need 3 to 4 weeks. Customized kits, like branded packaging or company swag, need 4 weeks.

How much does a virtual wine tasting cost?

Wine Tasting is $119 a person plus a $379 base fee, with the kit and the live class included. Shipping in the continental US is included. You see the full price before you book, and a 50% deposit holds the date.

Can we pair the wine with food?

Yes. Charcuterie Board Making ships cheeses, meat or vegetarian options and an acacia board, with an optional glass of wine, and you can book it alongside the wine tasting as one program.

Is a wine tasting a good client event?

Yes. Wine Tasting, Coffee Tasting and Charcuterie Board Making all sit in our client appreciation collection, and kits can carry branded packaging. See how we run client events.
