Kits with alcohol need an adult (21+) signature on delivery, so tell guests to plan for it or ship to an address where someone can sign. Non-drinkers can get a non-alcoholic kit where the table says yes, or follow along with an ingredients list we provide.

Continental US shipping is included. Kits without alcohol can go to other locations for an extra fee; book 3 weeks ahead, or 3 to 4 weeks with international addresses.

How a virtual cocktail class runs

It feels like a happy hour with a bartender in every kitchen.

  1. 1

    Kits go out

You send us addresses; every guest gets a kit with the spirits, mixers and garnishes for each drink.
  2. 2

    Shake along

Your mixologist demonstrates each cocktail on camera and everyone mixes at the same time, at home.
  3. 3

    Raise a glass

Compare garnishes, swap tips and toast together. It is a happy hour where everyone made the drinks.

What guests need at home

The kit brings the spirits, mixers and garnishes. Guests bring:

  • Ice
  • Two or three glasses
  • Measuring spoons
  • A shaker, or any container with a lid

Hybrid team? Put the mixologist on a room screen the office can see and hear, and test the link beforehand.

DIY cocktail hour or a hosted class?

Both are fine. Here is the honest trade-off.

DIY cocktail hour

Pick one easy recipe, send the shopping list a week ahead and ask your most confident home bartender to demo it on camera.

  • Costs only the ingredients, which guests usually buy themselves.
  • Everyone shops separately, so drinks and turnout vary.
  • No kit to open, which is a big part of the fun.

Hosted mixology class

The same kit at every door and a mixologist who keeps the group moving, so the organizer gets to drink too.

  • Measured spirits, mixers and garnish for each guest.
  • Live teaching, tips and banter on your usual call.
  • Zero-proof kits for non-drinkers on most classes.

Virtual mixology class questions

How does a virtual mixology class work?

Every guest gets a cocktail kit at their door. On the day, a live mixologist demonstrates each drink on your video call and everyone mixes along at home at the same time. Classes run 45 or 60 minutes.

What's in the cocktail kit?

Spirits in 50ml bottles, syrups, citrus, mixers and garnishes for each cocktail. The Mixology Cocktail Duo, for example, makes a Classic Daiquiri and a Paloma with white rum, tequila, simple syrup, lime juice, soda water and citrus wheels. Guests supply ice, glasses, measuring spoons and a shaker or a container with a lid.

Do guests need to be 21?

Kits that contain alcohol need an adult (21+) signature on delivery, so make sure someone 21 or older can sign for each one.

Is there a mocktail or non-alcoholic option?

Yes. Non-alcoholic kits are available for the Mixology Cocktail Duo, Mixology Cocktail Trio, Halloween-Themed Mixology and Pride-Themed Mixology. Guests can also follow along with an ingredients list we provide.

Where do the cocktail kits ship?

Mixology Cocktail Duo, Holiday-Themed Mixology and Halloween-Themed Mixology ship within the continental US. Mixology Cocktail Trio ships worldwide, with a per-guest add-on outside the continental US. Pride-Themed Mixology ships to the continental US and Canada. Kits without alcohol can go to other locations for an extra shipping fee, and we can send an ingredients list instead.

How far ahead should we book a virtual cocktail class?

At least 3 weeks, so the kits can ship; international addresses need 3 to 4 weeks. Customized kits, like branded packaging or company swag, need 4 weeks.

How much does a virtual mixology class cost?

Mixology classes run from $89 to $99 a person plus a $379 base fee, kit included. Shipping outside the continental US costs extra where available. You see the full price before you book, and a 50% deposit holds the date.

Can we use it for client appreciation?

Yes. A cocktail class works well as a thank-you for clients or partners, and kits can carry branded packaging. See our client events page for how we run them.
