Online party games: 22 multiplayer games to play with a group
22 online party games that work over a video call, with how many can play, how people join and who has to pay. 9 of them are free on our site.

The best online party games ask almost nothing of your guests: open a link, type a nickname, play. That matters most when you're gathering coworkers or friends on a call, so every game below lists how people join and whether anyone has to buy something, plus a note for playing it at work. We checked each third-party game on its official site or store page in October 2026, and we print no prices, since those change with every sale.

How to run online group games on a work call
Pick one host, who opens the game and shares their screen with sound on.
Post the link or room code in chat before you start talking rules.
Run a five-minute tech check: everyone joins, waves and sees the screen.
Use private rooms, and turn on any family-friendly or custom-word setting the game has.
Explain the rules in a minute and play one practice round.
Stop after two or three rounds, while people still want one more.
Skip these with coworkers:
Party packs rated M or labeled adult, such as The Jackbox Naughty Pack.
Cards Against Humanity-style clones and anything built around drinking.
Public rooms, where strangers can join and type anything.
Games that make some people buy something to join while others play free.
Most of these games top out between 8 and 20 players. Past that, split into rooms of 6 to 10 with one host each, or pick a game everyone plays at once, like our Feud-style board or PopSauce.
Want someone to run it for your team?
For 20 people or more, or when nobody wants to run the tech, a live host does it all: rules, teams, scoring and the banter. Our hosted virtual game shows run 60 minutes on Zoom by default, or Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. Book about 2 weeks ahead, and teams split across time zones can book two sessions.

Online party games FAQ
What are the best free online party games?
Gartic Phone, skribbl.io and JKLM.fun are free in the browser with just a nickname. Our own escape room, Jeopardy-style board, Feud-style board and word scramble are free too, with no ads or sign-up.
What online party games need no download or account?
All nine games on our site, plus Gartic Phone, skribbl.io, Gartic.io, JKLM.fun and Jigsaw Explorer, run in a browser with a nickname. Jackbox players and GeoGuessr Party guests also join from a browser with a code, though the host needs the game or a subscription.
How do you play Jackbox over Zoom, and does everyone need to buy it?
Only the host buys a pack. The host shares their screen with sound on Zoom or Discord, and everyone else joins at jackbox.tv on their phone with the room code. Turn the game's own audio down if it drowns out voices.
What online game works for a big group of 20, 50 or more?
Gartic Phone and Gartic.io take up to 50 per room, JKLM.fun's PopSauce takes up to 100, and GeoGuessr Party takes up to 100 guests. Our Feud-style board works for two teams of any size. For 50 or more on a work call, a hosted game show is easier to run.
Can you play Gartic Phone or skribbl.io on a phone?
Yes. Both run in a phone browser from the invite link, and Gartic Phone also has an app. Drawing with a finger is harder, which tends to make the results funnier.
What party games can you play on Discord or Microsoft Teams?
Any browser game here works by sharing your screen on a Discord or Teams call. Discord also has built-in Activities you can start from a voice call. For Teams, see our Microsoft Teams games.
Which online party games are appropriate for work?
Our own games are written for work. Of the rest, skribbl.io with custom words, Jigsaw Explorer, GeoGuessr Party and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes keep player-written content small or under your control. Use private rooms and skip anything rated M.
Rather have a host run the party?
Live game shows, trivia and bingo on Zoom, or Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. Send your date and headcount for a plan within 24 hours.
