Truth or dare generator for work: 120 clean truths and no-touch dares

KraftyLab TeamUpdated 8 min read

Your turnTruth or dare? Pick one to draw a prompt.

This truth or dare generator draws from 120 prompts written for work: truths that are light and only about the player, and dares with no touching, no drinking and nothing anyone would mind seeing at the next meeting. Pick In person or On video and it won’t repeat a prompt until the list runs out. All of them are printed below, with the rules for a meeting, a party or a call.

How to play truth or dare at work

Five steps for a group of 4 to 15. Bigger groups split into circles with one screen each.

  1. Say the rules first. Read the house rules below out loud before anyone picks, the pass rule most of all.
  2. Go around in order. Each player says truth or dare, and whoever holds the screen taps that button and reads the prompt out.
  3. Keep turns under a minute. A truth gets a sentence or two. A dare gets done, then the player names who goes next.
  4. The organizer goes first, and picks dare. It shows the game is safe and that nobody is the target.
  5. Quit while people are laughing. One or two rounds is plenty. Ten people take about 15 minutes per round.

House rules that keep it work-safe

  • Anyone can pass on any prompt, with no reason and no comments.
  • Truths are about yourself. Nobody asks about a coworker, and nobody follows up with "but who?"
  • Dares stay where you are: no touching anyone, no food or drink challenges, nothing that costs money.
  • No photos, recordings or posts of anyone's dare.
  • Only prompts from the list, or ones you checked before the game. No dares made up on the spot.
  • Senior people play like everyone else and take a dare at least once.

Ways to play: meetings, parties and virtual truth or dare

The same prompts stretch from a five-minute warm-up to a full round at the team party.

  • Stand-up warm-up: two players take one turn each before the agenda starts.
  • Team party: two rounds, 2 points for a dare and 1 for a truth. The winner picks the next team lunch spot.
  • On Zoom, Teams or Google Meet: set the chip to On video, share your screen and go in gallery order.
  • Hybrid: switch the chip each turn, so people in the room get room dares and remote players get video ones.
  • Team against team: the other team chooses truth or dare for each player, and the player can still pass.
  • Chat only: post one truth a day in a team channel and let people answer in the thread. Skip dares in chat.

Write your own truths and dares

Want to be the truth or dare creator for your team? Run every new prompt past these five checks.

  • Would you be fine answering or doing it in front of your manager?
  • Can it be done in under a minute, from where the player is, with what's already there?
  • Does it skip touching, food, drink, money and phones?
  • Is the player the only one in the spotlight, not someone else in the room?
  • Would it still be fun if the quietest person on the team drew it?

Truth or dare for work FAQ

How does this truth or dare generator work?

Pick In person or On video, then tap Truth or Dare. It draws from 50 truths and 35 dares for each setting, 120 prompts in all, and never repeats one until its list runs out. It's free and needs no sign-up.

Is truth or dare appropriate for work?

It can be, with the right prompts and rules. Keep truths light and about the player, keep dares to things anyone can do in a minute without touching anyone, and let people pass with no questions asked. Every prompt on this page follows those rules.

What are good truth questions to ask coworkers?

Light ones with a funny answer, like “Which emoji do you overuse?” or “What's the strangest thing you've done to stay awake in a meeting?” Skip anything about dating, money, health or other coworkers.

What are some clean dares for adults at work?

Quick, silly ones that need nothing but the room, like “Give a 20-second thank-you speech to the coffee machine.” or “Describe your desk like a real estate agent selling a mansion.” On video, try “Introduce your nearest houseplant to the call like it's a new hire.”

How do you play truth or dare on Zoom or Teams?

Set the generator to On video and share your screen. Go in gallery order: each person says truth or dare, you tap the button and read the prompt. Video dares use the camera, the chat or something on the desk, so everyone can play from home.

Can I make my own truth or dare list?

Yes. Write each prompt, then run five checks: you'd do it in front of your manager, it takes under a minute, it needs no touching, food, drink, money or phones, only the player is in the spotlight, and the quietest person on the team would enjoy it. Mix yours with the 120 here.

Do you have spicy or 18+ truth or dare questions?

No. This page is for coworkers, so every truth and dare is clean enough to play in a meeting room or on a company call. For another party game that stays work-safe, try never have I ever.
