How booking a hosted game works
Four steps from picking a game to a room full of competing teams.
Pick a game and a date. Book at least 14 days ahead. A 50% deposit holds the date, and you see the full price first.
Send the invite. Confirm your headcount 7 days before and share the private Zoom link we send, or your own meeting link.
Your host runs the hour. The host welcomes everyone, runs the rounds and keeps score. Most games play in small teams in breakout rooms.
Teams change as the games change. In most games the host reshuffles the small teams for each new game, so people play with someone new.
What your team needs
- A video call with breakout rooms and chat: Zoom by default, or Teams, Google Meet or Webex
- Pen and paper for each player
- For Mystery Mixtape, headphones or speakers and a phone to scan a QR code
- For the St. Patrick’s Day games, a phone to scan a QR code (or a web browser)
- For hybrid groups, a room screen the office can see and hear, ideally with a camera on the room
Half the team in the office? More in hybrid team building.
What our clients say
Trusted by teams at
Virtual team games questions
Why book a hosted game instead of running one ourselves?
The host brings the questions, runs the rules and the scoring and moves people between breakout rooms, so nobody on your team spends a week preparing and the person who organized it gets to play too.
How long does a hosted team game last?
One hour. That fits a lunch break or the end of a Friday. If you need a shorter or longer session, ask us and we will quote the change.
How many people can play?
Any group, from a small team to 1,000+ people. Bigger groups play as more small teams in more breakout rooms, and we plan tech support from your headcount.
How much do virtual team games cost?
Poll Points! starts at $34 a person for a group of 25 ($850 package). For 100 people, totals run from $1,400 to $3,400 depending on the game. Prices include taxes and fees, and custom questions or backgrounds can cost extra.
Which video platforms work?
Zoom by default; Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. Most games need breakout rooms and chat, and the host needs to share a screen. If we use your link and can’t co-host, someone on your side moves people into breakout rooms.
How far ahead should we book?
At least 14 days ahead. Need it sooner? Ask us and we will try. There is no limit on how far ahead you can reserve.
Can we add questions about our company?
Yes. Most games can take new questions about your team or year and custom backgrounds. Some requests cost extra; we quote them before you book.
Are there free online team building games we can run ourselves?
Yes. Our free guides cover Zoom games, Microsoft Teams games and team building games for work, each with rules you can run in a meeting yourself.
