Client welcome gifts for the first week after signing
A good client welcome gift arrives in the first week after the contract is signed, goes to the main contact or the whole client team, and has the kickoff date in the note. Ours start at $22.
Getting the welcome gift there in the first week
The first week after signing is when a new client decides whether they chose well. A gift that lands then says it before the work does.
No gifts on hand? Order the day it signs. An unbranded order takes about 2 to 3 weeks, so a contract signed Mon, Jan 11, 2027 gets its gift between Mon, Jan 25 and Mon, Feb 1. Then name the first milestone in the note instead of the kickoff.
Before the next client signs: Order a batch of one gift to your own office. Minimums are typically 10 per gift.
The day it signs: Send the welcome email with the kickoff date, and ask for the shipping address in your onboarding form.
In the first week: Mail the box with a note that names the kickoff date and who they will work with.
In the first month: If both teams should meet properly, add a hosted game or a kit workshop together.
Who gets a new client gift
Three people, or groups, on the client side. One real gift for each.
The main contact
The person who signed or will run the work with you. One gift to them, with the kickoff date in the note.
The whole client team
Everyone on their side of the project: one small box each, or one tower for the office to share.
The executive sponsor
The leader who approved the contract, with a note from your CEO.
For the sponsor, see executive gifts. Still selling to them? That is a gift for a prospect, with different rules.
Client onboarding gifts by budget
Real prices per gift, before shipping and branding. Pick one tier per role so every new client gets the same welcome.

Put the kickoff date in the note
A welcome note does one job: tells them what happens next and who they will work with. Send us the message and it goes inside each gift.
- The kickoff date, or the first milestone.
- The name of their day-to-day contact.
- From the account lead, or from your CEO for the sponsor.
- Logo on the ribbon or an insert; branding needs 4 to 6 weeks (custom logo gifts).
Notes to copy
For the main contact, the team and the sponsor.
- Welcome aboard. We kick off on [date], and [name] will be your day-to-day contact. We're glad to be working with you. [Your name]
- To the [client] team: welcome. See you at the kickoff on [date]. Something to share before then. [Your name]
- Thank you for choosing us for [project]. I'll be at the kickoff on [date], and my door is open after it. [CEO name]
Addresses and gift rules for new clients
Signing doesn't change what a client may accept. Gift limits and etiquette for the rest of the relationship are on client gifts.
Collect addresses in onboarding
Add a line to your kickoff form: office or home, and the address. Use only what they give you.
Office or home
A team box goes to the office. For a remote client team, send one small box to each home.
Gift rules still apply
A government or regulated client keeps its gift limits after signing. Check with your contact or their ethics office.
No upsell in the box
Leave out brochures and next-tier offers. The note should only welcome them.
Or kick off together
A live host runs about an hour on video for your team and the new client team. Hosted games book about 2 weeks ahead; kit workshops about 3 weeks for US addresses. More formats on virtual client appreciation.

Client welcome gift questions
What is a good welcome gift for a new client?
Something the client team can enjoy in the first week: a chocolate box for the main contact, one small box for each person, or a tower for the office to share. Put the kickoff date and your team's names in the note.
When should you send a new client gift?
In the first week after the contract is signed, before or around the kickoff. Not before signing: a gift during a negotiation is a different thing, and many buyers can't accept it.
How much should a client onboarding gift cost?
There is no set amount. A simple plan: under $40 for each person on the client team, $40 to $100 for the main contact or a shared box, and $100 to $200 for the executive sponsor. Our gifts run from $22 to $432.
How do we get the gift there in the first week?
Keep a few on hand: order a batch of one gift to your office (minimums are typically 10 per gift) and mail one the week a client signs. Ordered the day it signs, an unbranded gift takes about 2 to 3 weeks.
Should we send one gift or one for each person on the client team?
For a small team that works with you every day, one each. For a larger team or a shared office, one box or tower to share. The executive sponsor gets their own gift either way.
What should a client welcome note say?
Welcome, the kickoff date, and who their day-to-day contact is. Keep it to three lines and leave out any upsell.
Can we add our logo to client welcome gifts?
Yes. Printed packaging, branded ribbon and inserts are available where the gift allows, plus your message inside. Branding needs 4 to 6 weeks and can raise the minimum, so set it up once for the batch you keep on hand.
Can we do a kickoff event with the new client team?
Yes. A hosted game or a kit workshop gives both teams an hour together on video. Hosted games book about 2 weeks ahead; kit workshops about 3 weeks for US addresses.

Welcome every new client in their first week
Tell us how many clients you sign a month, your budget and whether you want your logo on it, and we will come back with a plan and a quote.
