Poll questions: 40 fun polls for work chats and meetings
Forty polls with answers, ready to post. Pick one, tweak it in the builder and copy it into Slack, Teams or your call chat.

Good poll questions for work are short, have two to four answers and no wrong one, like “When does Friday afternoon really start?” with Noon, 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and Thursday. Below are 40 for team channels, meeting openers, all-hands, plain fun and quick decisions. The builder formats any of them, or your own, for a Slack or Teams channel, a meeting chat or a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet poll form.

How to write a poll people answer
Five habits that get more votes than a clever question.
- Four answers at most. Two to four options keeps it a one-tap vote.
- Put the joke last. The silly option gets more votes when people read the real ones first.
- Say when it closes. "Votes close at 3" turns a shrug into a reply.
- Share the result. A one-line wrap-up in the thread is half the fun.
- Keep work polls work-safe. No politics, money, health or anything that sorts people by who they are.
How to run a poll in Slack, Teams, Zoom and Google Meet
An emoji poll works anywhere people can react. Built-in polls depend on the tool and your plan.
- Slack: post the question with a numbered emoji per answer and ask people to react. Pin it, and post the result in the thread when it closes.
- Microsoft Teams: in a channel, the emoji version works the same way. In a meeting, organizers and presenters add the Polls app as a tab and launch questions people answer in a pop-up. Microsoft's guide.
- Zoom: built-in polls need a host on a paid, licensed account with polling turned on, set up for a scheduled meeting. Without that, paste the meeting chat version and count the numbers. Zoom's guide.
- Google Meet: on most paid Google Workspace plans the host starts a poll from the meeting tools, and gets the results by email after the call. Google's guide.
