- A reset after a heavy quarter, a launch or a long run of deadlines.
- A first event for a new team: nobody has to perform or talk first.
- A desk keepsake: the tray stays at work for a two-minute break any day.
- Planning a full wellness month? See virtual mental health workshops for talks on burnout and stress.

Virtual zen garden workshop questions
How does a virtual zen garden workshop work?
Every guest gets a zen garden kit at their own address before the day. On the call, a live host walks the group through filling the tray, placing stones and raking patterns in the sand, with a few quiet minutes built in. It runs 60 minutes on Zoom by default, or Teams, Google Meet or Webex.
How much does a virtual zen garden workshop cost per person?
Zen Garden is $45 a person plus a $379 base fee: $1,504 in total for 25 guests, about $61 a person. Kits and continental US shipping are included, and a 50% deposit holds the date.
What comes in the zen garden kit, and what do guests need?
A bamboo tray, fine white sand, a mini wooden rake, smooth stones and pebbles, and one decorative piece: a small bridge, a pagoda or a bonsai-style tree. Guests only need a device for the call and a table to work on.
How far in advance should we book?
The minimum is 16 days before the workshop, but guests' addresses are due 16 days before it, so book about 23 days out to give people a week to send them. Kits are expected at least 3 days before the workshop.
Do zen garden kits ship outside the continental US?
Zen Garden kits ship within the continental US only, with shipping included. For guests in Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, Canada or abroad, tell us where they are and we suggest a kit that ships to them.
Is this an online zen garden or a real one?
Both. The workshop runs online, on your video call, but every guest rakes a real sand garden at home and keeps it afterward.
Is a zen garden workshop good for a wellness or mindfulness program?
Yes. It is slow, quiet and hands-on, so it suits people who find a guided meditation hard to sit through. It pairs well with a virtual meditation session in the same wellness week.
What is a zen garden, and where does it come from?
It is a Japanese rock garden, or karesansui (dry landscape): a small, stylized landscape of rocks, with gravel or sand raked to suggest rippling water. One of the most famous is at Ryoan-ji temple in Kyoto. The kit keeps the same idea in a desk-size tray.
