Virtual launch party
A virtual launch party is a 45 to 60 minute video call for the team that built it: a short live demo, thank-yous by name, then a hosted game or a kit toast everyone opens at home. Hold it the week after launch, once the fire drills calm down.

How to run a virtual launch party
One hour on the call. The team shows the thing and thanks each other, the host runs the middle.
- 0:00The demo · the PM or lead engineerFive minutes on what shipped, shown live in the product, not in slides. Start as people join.
- 0:06Thank-yous by name · the team leadOne line per person and per partner team, including support, docs and whoever ran the release.
- 0:12The hosted game or the kit toast · your hostBuilders mixed in teams with sales, support and marketing. Ask for a 40 to 45 minute cut when you book.
- 0:55One early result and a toast · a leaderA first number or a first customer quote, then glasses or mugs up on camera.
Only 45 minutes? Book the two-cocktail class, which runs about 45 minutes, and keep the demo to three minutes.
Who to invite
- Everyone who built it: engineering, design, product, research and QA.
- The partner teams: support, sales, marketing, docs, legal and ops.
- People who rolled off the project before launch. They shipped it too.
- One leader for five minutes of thanks, not a keynote.
Hold it the week after launch
Not on launch day, and not a month later when everyone has moved on.
- Launch week is on-call week. Nobody relaxes with a dashboard open.
- By the week after, the first fire drills are over and there are early numbers to share.
- Pick the party date the day the launch date is set, so kits have time to ship.
- Launch slipped? Each activity lets you reschedule free up to 2 days before the event.

Virtual launch party questions
How do you run a virtual launch party?
Hold one 45 to 60 minute video call for the team that built it: a five-minute live demo of what shipped, thank-yous by name, then a hosted game or a kit toast, and close with one early result. Book a live host so the people who planned the launch get to play.
When should we hold a launch party?
The week after launch. Launch week is on-call week, and by the week after the first fixes are out and there are early numbers to share. Pick the party date as soon as the launch date is set.
What are good product launch celebration ideas for a remote team?
A live demo instead of slides, a thank-you to every partner team by name, a hosted game that mixes builders with sales and support, and a cocktail, wine, coffee or bubble tea kit shipped to every home for the toast.
Who should we invite to a launch party?
Everyone who built it, the partner teams that made launch day work (support, sales, marketing, docs, legal, ops), and people who rolled off the project before it shipped. Ask one leader for five minutes of thanks.
How far ahead should we book?
About 2 weeks for a hosted game, 3 weeks for a kit to US addresses, and 5 weeks with anyone in Canada or abroad. For a party on December 17, 2026, book a game by December 3 and a US kit by November 25.
How much does a virtual launch party cost?
A hosted game like Poll Points! is $850 for 25 guests, with the host included. Kit toasts are a base fee plus a price per guest, shown on their cards. A 50% deposit holds the date, and you can pay by card or invoice.
Is this for a customer launch event?
No, this is the party for the team. For a customer or community launch event with a big audience, see conference entertainment.
