How to choose a virtual keynote speaker

Six checks before you hire a keynote speaker. They matter more than a famous name.

  1. 1Start with the outcomeWrite one sentence on what people should think or do differently the next morning. Pick the talk that serves it.
  2. 2Match the momentBusy season calls for burnout or sleep; a reorg for resilience; January for goals; April for Earth Day.
  3. 3Decide: listen or take partA talk suits a big all-hands. A workshop-style session suits a team that will reflect and discuss.
  4. 4Price the whole audienceFlat-priced talks cost the same for 25 or 250 people. Block-priced ones grow with headcount.
  5. 5Check what guests needMost talks ask for pen and paper; a few use a phone to scan a QR code. Put it in the invite.
  6. 6Plan the slot around itName who introduces the speaker and who closes, and keep the 60 minutes free of other agenda items.

A corporate keynote works best with something people do together before or after it.

Booking details

  • Book at least 14 days ahead. December dates fill first.
  • Reserve with a 50% deposit. Rescheduling is free at least 2 days before your event.
  • Hybrid works: the office group joins from one screen and microphone the speaker can see and hear.
