Team building for insurance companies

The best team building for insurance companies is a 60-minute hosted event that every office joins on one video call, booked around open enrollment and storm season, and run twice when claims or service lines can't all step away at once. We plan hosted games, kit workshops and short workshops for carriers and independent agencies.

The insurance year, and where a team event fits

Enrollment deadlines and storm season decide the date before anyone picks an activity. Here is the calendar from now to November 2027.

  1. Oct 15 to Dec 7, 2026

    Medicare Open Enrollment

People can change Medicare plans from October 15 to December 7. Agencies that sell Medicare plans keep the calendar clear until it ends on Monday, December 7.
  2. Tue, Dec 15, 2026

Marketplace deadline for January 1 coverage

Marketplace enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027, and December 15 is the last day to enroll for coverage that starts January 1. Health agencies plan around it.
  3. Thu, Dec 17, 2026

The holiday party, once enrollment calms down

A good date for agencies and carriers alike. Book a hosted game by December 3, a kit workshop to US addresses by November 25, and by November 12 with guests in Canada or abroad.
  4. Thu, Jan 21, 2027

    Agency kickoff after open enrollment

Marketplace enrollment closes Friday, January 15. Start the year the week after with a kickoff for producers; book a hosted game by January 7.
  5. Apr to Jul 2027

The calm window for property claims

Spring and early summer are the easiest months to get claims, underwriting and service teams on one call. A good time for the bigger event of the year.
  6. Jun 1 to Nov 30, 2027

    Hurricane season

The Atlantic season runs June 1 to November 30, with most activity between mid-August and mid-October. Keep property claims events out of those weeks, and plan a thank-you once a big storm is closed out.

Insurance team building activities

Every session runs about an hour with a live host or instructor, on Zoom by default or on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. Prices are live from our catalog.

Carriers, agencies and claims floors

Insurance teams come in very different shapes. Here is how each one fits on one event.

  • A carrier with many offices

Claims, underwriting and service each sit in different cities. Everyone joins one call, and you mix departments on each team so people meet the colleagues behind the emails.
  • Claims and service lines

The phones can't all go quiet at once. Book two sessions on the same day so half the floor plays while half covers. More on team building for support teams.
  • An independent agency

Five to twenty people, with producers paid on commission who guard their selling hours. Use the lunch hour or 4 p.m., and see prices for small groups.
  • Field adjusters and remote staff

Adjusters on the road and staff who work from home join from wherever they are. Kits ship to the address each person gives us.

A company-wide holiday party? We have run a single 60-minute event for 1,000 registered employees across four parallel activity tracks.

Staff events, client gifts and approvals

An event for your own employees and a gift for a policyholder sit under different rules. Know which one you are planning.

Your own team. A team building event for your employees is a staff event, paid from your HR or department budget.

Customers and prospects. Gifts tied to selling or renewing a policy fall under state rebating rules. The NAIC model law, which states adopt in their own form, allows non-cash gifts only up to an amount the commissioner finds reasonable, never as a condition of buying or renewing.

Insurance team building questions

What is good team building for insurance companies?

The best team building for insurance companies is a 60-minute hosted event that every office joins on one video call, booked around open enrollment and storm season, and run twice when claims or service lines can't all step away at once. Hosted games, holiday kit workshops and short workshops on stress all fit that slot.

When should an insurance agency hold its holiday party?

After open enrollment calms down. Medicare Open Enrollment ends Monday, December 7, 2026, and the Marketplace deadline for January 1 coverage is Tuesday, December 15, 2026. Thursday, December 17 works well: book a hosted game by December 3 or a kit workshop by November 25.

How do we include claims and call-center staff who can't leave the phones?

Book two sessions on the same day, so half the team plays while the other half covers the lines, then swap. Ask for both in one quote.

Can every office join the same event?

Yes. Everyone joins one video call, on Zoom by default or on Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. In a hosted game each office can play as a team, and in a kit workshop every person gets a kit at the address they give us.

Do insurance gift rules apply to a team event for our own staff?

Rebating and inducement rules are about gifts to customers and prospects in connection with selling insurance, so they are a separate question from an event for your own employees. The NAIC model law that states adopt in their own form allows non-cash gifts to customers only up to an amount the state commissioner finds reasonable. This is general information, not legal advice: check with your compliance team.

How much does team building for an insurance company cost?

Hosted games are priced as a package for the group, and kit workshops as a base fee plus a price per kit. Quiz Showdown! is $39 a person for a group of 25 ($975 package). Cookie Decorating is $72 a person plus a $379 base fee. Each card on this page shows its live price, and the table shows totals for 12, 40 and 150 people.

How far ahead should we book?

About 2 weeks for a hosted game and about 3 weeks for a kit workshop to US addresses. With guests in Canada or abroad, book about 5 weeks out, because those addresses are due 4 weeks before the event. You can pay by card with a 50% deposit or book with a PO and pay by invoice.
