A sample two-hour party in San Diego

A Wednesday, 4:30 to 6:30 pm, 80 guests. An early-evening party for a bigger, competitive team: there's no snow or ice to plan around, the sun is down before 5 so the room feels like a party from the start, and drivers leave after the worst of the rush.

  1. Before 4:30

Find the right building, then set up

On a multi-building campus, the host unloads where your property manager says and sets up the screen and QR code scoring before people walk over from other buildings.

  2. 4:30 pm

    Blitz-Speed Trivia

Every player answers on their own phone, and faster answers score more. It ends with The Staircase, until one player is left at the top.

  3. 5:30 pm

    Food and a reshuffle

Five minutes to grab food while the room splits into Feud teams. Mix Downtown and UTC people at every table.

  4. 5:35 pm

    Feud Night

After an hour of every player for themselves, now they have to agree. Survey questions go up on screen, teams debate, and each captain locks in one answer by QR code.

  5. 6:35 pm

    Winners, then the Trolley

Trolley riders head for the platform, and drivers find the 5 and the 805 past the worst of the evening rush.

At 80 guests: Blitz-Speed Trivia $2,200 + Feud Night $2,200 = $4,400 at list prices.

Planning a December party in San Diego

Whether your team sits Downtown, in UTC, Sorrento Valley or up in North County, these are the San Diego details that shape a December party.

  1. Mild, with the odd rain day

December in San Diego is mild, which pulls people toward a patio or a waterfront venue. But the sun sets before 5 pm, evenings near the coast turn cool and damp, and on the rare rain day traffic slows sharply. A room at the office keeps the plan the same whatever the sky does.

  2. The 5, the 805 and the merge

Most San Diego teams drive, and I‑5 and I‑805 both crawl at the evening rush, worst around UTC and Sorrento Valley where the two meet. A party that runs until 6:30 lets drivers wait out the slowest stretch.

  3. Trolley yes, Coaster check

The UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley runs from Downtown up to UTC, with trains through the evening. The Coaster from North County runs a much thinner schedule, so if people ride it, check the last trains before you set an end time.

  4. Campus offices need directions

Many offices in Sorrento Valley and UTC sit on campuses with several buildings and big parking lots or garages. Tell guests from other offices which building, door and lot to use, and ask your property manager where a host can unload and park.

San Diego holiday party questions

How much does office holiday party entertainment cost in San Diego?

Feud Night, Music Bingo, Team Trivia and Blitz-Speed Trivia are $1,750 for up to 50 guests, plus $450 for each additional 50. Canvas Painting is $55 a person plus a $750 base fee. Watercolor Card Decorating is $52 a person plus a $750 base fee. That covers the host, the game and, for the painting formats, every supply. Food, drinks and the room are yours to arrange.

How far ahead should we book a December holiday party in San Diego?

Book hosted games at least 2 weeks ahead and painting workshops at least 3 weeks ahead; branding or custom questions need 4 weeks. For Thursday, Dec 17, that means booking games by Dec 3 and painting by Nov 26. If your date is sooner than that, ask us; we confirm what we can run in your plan.

Do you come to offices in Carlsbad, Carmel Valley or Sorrento Valley?

Our hosts travel to offices and venues in the San Diego area. Send the address with your date and we confirm coverage for addresses outside the city, like Carlsbad, Del Mar or Escondido, when we send your plan.

Is an after-work holiday party a good idea in San Diego in December?

Usually, yes. There's no snow or ice to plan around, and a 4:30 to 6:30 pm party lets drivers skip the worst of the rush on the 5 and the 805. The one group to ask first is Coaster riders from North County, since their last trains come earlier than the Trolley's.

What do we need to provide for a party at our office?

A room with tables and chairs, a TV or projector with an HDMI cable for the games, and phones to scan a QR code. The painting formats also need water access and trash cans. We bring the host, the game, the scoring and, for painting, every supply, and we handle setup and cleanup.

What if more people show up than we planned for?

Give us your best headcount estimate; we use it to plan hosts and support. We can take extra guests on the day, and if attendance is well over your estimate we invoice the difference.

Can remote employees join the party?

The in-person formats are built for people in the room. For remote staff, book a virtual holiday party on Zoom (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request) on another day, or run one for the whole company.

Can we add holiday gifts for the team?

Yes. Pair the party with corporate holiday gifts shipped to each person, which also covers anyone who can't make it to the office that day.
