A sample two-hour party in Austin

A Thursday, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, 35 guests. A late-afternoon party for a smaller team: it starts quiet with cards, ends loud with a game, and finishes at 6 so Red Line riders still have a train north.

  1. Before 4:00

    Paper, paint and a screen

The host sets watercolor paper, paints and brushes at every seat and connects to your TV or projector for the second hour. You provide water access and a few trash cans.

  2. 4:00 pm

    Watercolor Card Decorating

The host walks everyone through the techniques for a set of four cards. It's a gentle start for people coming straight from a meeting, and nobody needs art skills.

  3. 5:00 pm

    Cards to the side

Cards go to a side table to dry and the same tables become Feud teams.

  4. 5:05 pm

    Feud Night

The loud half. Questions from real surveys go up on the screen, each table argues it out, and the captain locks in the team's answer by QR code. Anyone who came in late from MoPac is on a team by now.

  5. 6:05 pm

Sign a card, catch the Red Line

Everyone signs one card for a teammate on the way out, and rail riders head north while there are still trains.

At 35 guests: Watercolor Card Decorating $2,570 + Feud Night $1,750 = $4,320 at list prices.

Planning a December party in Austin

Whether your team sits Downtown, at the Domain, in East Austin or out in Round Rock or Cedar Park, these are the Austin details that shape a December party.

  1. I‑35 and MoPac set the end time

Most Austin teams drive in on I‑35, MoPac or US 183 from places like Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park or Kyle, and both main highways crawl at the evening rush. Ask where your people come from and end the party before or well after that window.

  2. The Red Line has a short evening

CapMetro's Red Line commuter train between Leander and Downtown runs a limited weekday evening schedule. If your staff ride it, check the last trains north before you pick an end time.

  3. Downtown or the Domain

Many Austin companies split people between Downtown and North Austin around the Domain. The Domain fills with holiday shoppers on December evenings, so if you host there, book parking or tell guests from Downtown to leave early.

  4. Patio weather, with a catch

A December afternoon in Austin can be warm enough to tempt you outside, but a blue norther can drop the temperature fast, and wind and watercolor paper don't mix. Plan the party for an indoor room, and save the patio for a few minutes of sun after.

Austin holiday party questions

How much does office holiday party entertainment cost in Austin?

Feud Night, Music Bingo, Team Trivia and Blitz-Speed Trivia are $1,750 for up to 50 guests, plus $450 for each additional 50. Canvas Painting is $55 a person plus a $750 base fee. Watercolor Card Decorating is $52 a person plus a $750 base fee. That covers the host, the game and, for the painting formats, every supply. Food, drinks and the room are yours to arrange.

How far ahead should we book a December holiday party in Austin?

Book hosted games at least 2 weeks ahead and painting workshops at least 3 weeks ahead; branding or custom questions need 4 weeks. For Thursday, Dec 17, that means booking games by Dec 3 and painting by Nov 26. If your date is sooner than that, ask us; we confirm what we can run in your plan.

Do you come to offices in Round Rock, Cedar Park or Southeast Austin?

Our hosts travel to offices and venues in the Austin area. Send the address with your date and we confirm coverage for addresses outside the city when we send your plan.

Can our Downtown and Domain teams share one Austin party?

Yes. Host where most people sit, and give the other office a head start, since the drive between Downtown and the Domain on MoPac can take far longer at 5 pm than at 3. Put the watercolor cards first: someone who walks in 20 minutes late misses part of the calm hour, not the game. If the drive is too much, book a party at each office.

What do we need to provide for a party at our office?

A room with tables and chairs, a TV or projector with an HDMI cable for the games, and phones to scan a QR code. The painting formats also need water access and trash cans. We bring the host, the game, the scoring and, for painting, every supply, and we handle setup and cleanup.

What if more people show up than we planned for?

Give us your best headcount estimate; we use it to plan hosts and support. We can take extra guests on the day, and if attendance is well over your estimate we invoice the difference.

Can remote employees join the party?

The in-person formats are built for people in the room. For remote staff, book a virtual holiday party on Zoom (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request) on another day, or run one for the whole company.

Can we add holiday gifts for the team?

Yes. Pair the party with corporate holiday gifts shipped to each person, which also covers anyone who can't make it to the office that day.
