A sample two-hour party in Washington DC

A Wednesday, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, 45 guests. An early-evening party that ends at 6, so the MARC and VRE riders make their usual trains and nobody has to slip out.

  1. Before 4:00

    Host sets up

Screen, scoring and bingo cards go out. You provide tables, chairs and a TV or projector with HDMI.

  2. 4:00 pm

    Team Trivia

Tables become teams. Picture rounds, bonus rounds and a wager finale where the standings can flip.

  3. 5:00 pm

    Quick thank-you

Leadership says a few words while the host switches the screen to bingo.

  4. 5:05 pm

    Music Bingo

The easy ending: anyone with a train to catch can drop their card and go without breaking up a team.

  5. 6:05 pm

    Last BINGO, then Metro

Done before the evening commuter trains thin out.

At 45 guests: Team Trivia $1,750 + Music Bingo $1,750 = $3,500 at list prices.

Planning a December party in Washington DC

Whether your office is downtown, in Navy Yard or across the river in Arlington, these are the DC details that shape a December party.

  1. Mind the commuter trains

MARC and VRE run a limited set of evening departures, and VRE runs weekdays only. A party that ends by 6 pm gets those riders on their usual train.

  2. Build around your busiest office day

Telework is common across DC employers and contractors. Find the day most of your people are in and put the party there.

  3. Check the rules for federal guests

If federal employees from client agencies are on the guest list, check the gift and ethics rules that apply to them before invites go out.

  4. Give December deadlines a buffer

If your team's calendar follows Congress or an agency, year-end deadlines can pile up. Pick a date early in the month or hold a backup date.

Washington DC holiday party questions

How much does office holiday party entertainment cost in Washington DC?

Feud Night, Music Bingo, Team Trivia and Blitz-Speed Trivia are $1,750 for up to 50 guests, plus $450 for each additional 50. Canvas Painting is $55 a person plus a $750 base fee. Watercolor Card Decorating is $52 a person plus a $750 base fee. That covers the host, the game and, for the painting formats, every supply. Food, drinks and the room are yours to arrange.

How far ahead should we book a December holiday party in Washington DC?

Book hosted games at least 2 weeks ahead and painting workshops at least 3 weeks ahead; branding or custom questions need 4 weeks. For Thursday, Dec 17, that means booking games by Dec 3 and painting by Nov 26. If your date is sooner than that, ask us; we confirm what we can run in your plan.

Do you come to offices in Arlington, Bethesda or Tysons?

Our hosts travel to offices and venues in the Washington DC area. Send the address with your date and we confirm coverage for addresses outside the District when we send your plan.

What time should a DC office holiday party end?

If guests ride MARC or VRE, aim to finish by 6 pm, since both run a limited set of evening trains. Metro riders have more room, but an early finish still gets the best turnout.

What do we need to provide for a party at our office?

A room with tables and chairs, a TV or projector with an HDMI cable for the games, and phones to scan a QR code. The painting formats also need water access and trash cans. We bring the host, the game, the scoring and, for painting, every supply, and we handle setup and cleanup.

What if more people show up than we planned for?

Give us your best headcount estimate; we use it to plan hosts and support. We can take extra guests on the day, and if attendance is well over your estimate we invoice the difference.

Can remote employees join the party?

The in-person formats are built for people in the room. For remote staff, book a virtual holiday party on Zoom (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request) on another day, or run one for the whole company.

Can we add holiday gifts for the team?

Yes. Pair the party with corporate holiday gifts shipped to each person, which also covers anyone who can't make it to the office that day.
