A sample two-hour party in Philadelphia

A Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 pm, 45 guests. A late-afternoon party built around the train: the paintings dry during trivia, and people head for Suburban Station or 30th Street with a canvas under one arm.

  1. Before 3:30

    Easels and aprons out

Canvas boards, easels, paints and brushes go on your tables. You provide water access and a few trash cans.

  2. 3:30 pm

    Canvas Painting

A guided acrylic painting on a 12 x 16 inch canvas board. Start on time, since painting is the half of the party where late arrivals miss the most.

  3. 4:30 pm

    Canvases to the side

Paintings move to a drying spot and the tables count off into trivia teams.

  4. 4:35 pm

    Team Trivia

Tables talk it through. Picture and bonus rounds break up the standard ones, and the wager finale can flip the standings.

  5. 5:35 pm

Grab a canvas, catch a train

Champions crowned, paintings collected, and Center City riders walk to the station with time to spare.

At 45 guests: Canvas Painting $3,225 + Team Trivia $1,750 = $4,975 at list prices.

Planning a December party in Philadelphia

Whether your office is in Center City, University City or out in King of Prussia or Conshohocken, these are the Philadelphia details that shape a December party.

  1. End before Regional Rail thins out

Many Philadelphia teams ride SEPTA Regional Rail in from the suburbs or PATCO from South Jersey. Trains come less often once the evening rush is over, so a party that ends around 5:30 lets people keep their usual ride.

  2. Center City fills up in December

Holiday markets and shoppers crowd the blocks around City Hall all month. A party in your own office saves guests from pushing through that crowd to reach a venue.

  3. Check the Eagles schedule

When the Eagles play a weeknight game, a lot of the office will want to be home for kickoff, and traffic toward South Philadelphia builds early. Look at the schedule before you lock the date.

  4. Suburban offices run on the Schuylkill

Plenty of Philadelphia companies sit in King of Prussia, Conshohocken or along the Main Line, where most people drive. There, ending before the Schuylkill Expressway backs up matters more than train times.

Philadelphia holiday party questions

How much does office holiday party entertainment cost in Philadelphia?

Feud Night, Music Bingo, Team Trivia and Blitz-Speed Trivia are $1,750 for up to 50 guests, plus $450 for each additional 50. Canvas Painting is $55 a person plus a $750 base fee. Watercolor Card Decorating is $52 a person plus a $750 base fee. That covers the host, the game and, for the painting formats, every supply. Food, drinks and the room are yours to arrange.

How far ahead should we book a December holiday party in Philadelphia?

Book hosted games at least 2 weeks ahead and painting workshops at least 3 weeks ahead; branding or custom questions need 4 weeks. For Thursday, Dec 17, that means booking games by Dec 3 and painting by Nov 26. If your date is sooner than that, ask us; we confirm what we can run in your plan.

Do you come to offices in King of Prussia, Conshohocken or South Jersey?

Our hosts travel to offices and venues in the Philadelphia area. Send the address with your date and we confirm coverage for addresses outside the city when we send your plan.

Can people take their paintings home on SEPTA?

Yes. In this plan the painting comes first and trivia second, so the canvases get about an hour to dry before anyone leaves. Each one is a 12 x 16 inch board, small enough to carry on a train. If you would rather paint last, set aside a spot where people can leave them overnight.

What do we need to provide for a party at our office?

A room with tables and chairs, a TV or projector with an HDMI cable for the games, and phones to scan a QR code. The painting formats also need water access and trash cans. We bring the host, the game, the scoring and, for painting, every supply, and we handle setup and cleanup.

What if more people show up than we planned for?

Give us your best headcount estimate; we use it to plan hosts and support. We can take extra guests on the day, and if attendance is well over your estimate we invoice the difference.

Can remote employees join the party?

The in-person formats are built for people in the room. For remote staff, book a virtual holiday party on Zoom (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request) on another day, or run one for the whole company.

Can we add holiday gifts for the team?

Yes. Pair the party with corporate holiday gifts shipped to each person, which also covers anyone who can't make it to the office that day.
