150 how well do you know me questions
Tap up to 10 questions, add a name and copy a quiz sheet. Sets for coworkers, friends, family and couples, and every question is clean.
How well do you know me?
- 1. What's my go-to coffee or tea order?
- 2. What's always on my desk?
- 3. What would I do first after logging on?
- 4. What's my main hobby outside work?
- 5. Where would I go on a dream trip?
A how well do you know me quiz is about the simplest party game there is: ten questions about one person, and everyone else guesses the answers. These 150 how well do you know me questions come in four sets. The coworker set is the biggest, and nothing in it asks about family, health, money or age. The couples set is written Newlywed Game-style and stays clean enough for a wedding shower. Below the rules you will also find a game-show version for work and a quiz about one named person for a birthday, a farewell or a retirement.
How to play the how well do you know me game
One subject, 10 questions, about 15 minutes. All you need is paper.
- Pick who the quiz is about. One person is the subject: the birthday person, a new manager, the teammate who is leaving. In a small group, everyone can take a turn.
- Choose 10 questions. Use the builder above. Start with easy ones, such as a favorite food, and end with two or three that only a close friend would get.
- The subject writes the answers first. Privately, before anyone guesses. A written answer key settles every argument later.
- Everyone else guesses. On paper, on a card or in a private message. No talking it over: each person answers alone.
- Reveal and score. The subject reads each answer out. A match scores one point, and the subject rules on anything close. The highest score wins.
What a score out of 10 means
- 9 or 10: you could order lunch for them without asking.
- 6 to 8: you have clearly been listening.
- 3 to 5: you know the basics. Sit together at the next team lunch.
- 0 to 2: you have only just met, and now you know ten new things about them.
If two people tie, ask one number question, such as “How many browser tabs do I have open right now?” The closest guess wins.
Run it as a Newlywed Game-style game show at work
On the TV show, couples try to match each other's answers. At work, swap the couples for pairs of coworkers. It takes about 20 minutes.
Who to pair
- A manager and someone who reports to them.
- Desk neighbors, or two people who share a shift.
- An onboarding buddy and the new hire they looked after.
- Two people who have run a project together.
- The two people who have been on the team longest.
How a round works
- Seat each pair back to back. Give every player a marker and a stack of index cards, or a small whiteboard. Back to back, nobody can peek.
- Ask a question about one partner. Say who it is about: “What is Sam's go-to coffee order?” Sam writes the true answer. Sam's partner writes a guess.
- Reveal on three. Both hold up their cards at the same moment. A match scores the pair 5 points. The host decides whether a near match counts.
- Swap after three questions. For the next three questions the other partner is the subject, and each match scores 10 points.
- End on one bonus question. Each pair gets a last question worth 25 points, so any pair can still win. A perfect game is 70 points.
Tips for the host
- Ask for volunteers. Three or four pairs play, and everyone else is the audience.
- Only ask questions with one short answer. “Favorite dessert” fits on a card. “Biggest dream” does not.
- Take every question from the coworker set below. Nothing about family, health, money or age.
- Before each reveal, ask the audience for a show of hands: match or no match? It keeps the whole room in the game.
- Either partner can pass on a question. Draw another one and move on.
On Zoom, Teams or Google Meet
- The host reads the question out loud and pastes it into the chat.
- On Zoom, the subject sends the true answer to the host as a direct message, and everyone else sends the host a guess the same way. Nobody sees anyone else's answer.
- The host reads the true answer and names everyone who matched. One point each, kept on a shared doc or a slide.
- On Teams or Google Meet, where meeting chat goes to everyone, use a countdown: everyone types a guess, and nobody presses Enter until the host says go. Do the same on Zoom if direct messages are switched off.
- For the pairs version, both partners write on paper and hold their answers up to the camera on three.
- Ten questions take about 15 minutes. With more than 20 people, split into breakout rooms with one subject in each room.

The “how well do you know [Name]” quiz for a birthday, farewell or retirement
One guest of honor, 10 questions, and a room full of people who each think they know them best.
- Get the answers a week ahead. Send 10 questions to the guest of honor. For a surprise party, ask a close teammate or a family member to answer for them.
- Make the sheet. Type the name into the builder at the top of this page, pick the questions and copy the sheet. Print one for each guest, or paste it into the party chat.
- Give everyone five minutes. Guests fill it in alone as they arrive. It gives the early arrivals something to do.
- Read the answers together. The guest of honor reads each real answer and tells the story behind it. This is the best part, so leave time for it.
- Crown the winner. The top score gets a small prize or the first slice of cake. At a retirement party, collect the sheets afterwards: they make a good page in a memory book.
