Tech team building activities, by the size of the group

A company-wide call, one product team, or a team that never shares an office. Every session runs about an hour with a live host, and prices are live from our catalog.

Teams with an office hub can also book a hosted game in the room: in-person games at your office run in 17 US cities. Building something just for developers and IT? See team building for engineering teams.

When tech companies have room for team building

The calendar is set by quarters and launches. Book into the gaps between them, not on top of them.

  • Early Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct

    The week after quarter close

Sales and finance are back from the end-of-quarter push and planning has not started yet. The easiest week of the quarter to fill a calendar.
  • After a launch

    The Friday after it ships

Mark a launch the week it lands, not a month later. Book two weeks ahead and move the date if the launch slips.
  • Every quarter

The last hour of an all-hands

Everyone is already on the call. Swap the final Q&A block for a hosted game and attendance takes care of itself.
  • December 2026

    The company holiday party

Global kits need booking about 5 weeks out. If your teams freeze releases in late December, plan the party before the freeze.
  • January 2027

    The kickoff

A new fiscal year, new goals and new hires. See sales kickoff activities for the go-to-market side.
  • Avoid

    Launch week and quarter end

The last two weeks of a quarter, launch week and on-call heavy weeks. People come, but they keep one eye on Slack.

One event across time zones

With people in several time zones, the hour decides who comes. These are the hours that work in December 2026, when the US and Europe are both on standard time.

  • US only

    10:00 am Pacific

1:00 pm Eastern and noon Central. Inside the workday from Seattle to New York, and after the morning standups.
  • US and Europe

    9:00 am Pacific

Noon Eastern, 5:00 pm London and 6:00 pm Berlin. The one hour both continents share. Run it early in the week.
  • US, Europe and India

    Run it twice

9:00 am Pacific for the Americas and Europe, then 10:00 am Bengaluru (8:30 pm Pacific the evening before) for Asia. Same game, two sessions.

A 300-person global holiday party, worked back from the date

Book-by dates for a party on Wednesday, December 16, 2026. Kits for teammates outside the US are the date that slips.

For 300 people, run one hosted game in breakout teams, or split into parallel tracks where each person picks a game or a kit workshop. Read how we run big groups on team building for large groups.

  1. Nov 11, 2026

Book any kits going to Canada or abroad

International and Canadian addresses are due 4 weeks before, so book about 5 weeks out. This is the date global teams miss.
  2. Nov 18, 2026

Addresses in Canada and other countries are due 4 weeks before the party. Each guest's kit goes to their own address, and we handle the customs paperwork.
  3. Nov 25, 2026

    Book kits for US addresses

Kit workshops need about 3 weeks for US addresses. Continental US shipping is included.
  4. Dec 2, 2026

    Book hosted games

Hosted games need about 2 weeks. For 300 people, pick one game for everyone or parallel tracks where people choose.
  5. Dec 16, 2026

    The party

A short welcome from leadership, then 60 minutes of hosted activities. Teams in breakout rooms, one host per track.

Company-wide? We have run a single 60-minute event for 1,000 registered employees across four parallel activity tracks.

When every manager books for their own team

At a tech company, team building is rarely one event. It is forty managers each booking their own, and someone in people ops trying to see all of it.

Compare pay-as-you-go and the enterprise program on plans.

  • A free team account for every team that books, so each manager sees their own events, invoices and sign-ups.
  • One catalog for the company. On the enterprise program, people ops approves which activities teams can book.
  • Monthly budgets per team and SSO, so a manager books inside a budget you set once.
  • Card, invoice or PO. A PO booking gets an invoice instead of a card charge, and enterprise customers can pay by monthly invoicing.
  • Post-event surveys that show which formats your teams actually liked.

Team building for tech companies: questions

What are good team building activities for tech companies?

For tech companies, the best team building runs on the video call people already use and fits one hour of the workday. Hosted trivia and survey games work for a whole company, escape rooms and trail games suit one product team, and kit workshops like coffee tasting or candle making give distributed teams something to do besides look at a camera.

How do you run team building for a tech team spread across time zones?

Find the one hour your offices share. For the US and Europe in December 2026 that is about 9:00 am Pacific, noon Eastern and 5:00 pm London. With India or Asia on the team, run the same game twice, once for each half of the world. The time-zone finder on global team building works it out for your offices.

How much does team building cost for a tech company?

Hosted games are a package for up to 25 people that grows in blocks, and kit workshops are a base fee plus a price per kit. Trivia with a Twist! is $975 for 25 people and $1,635 for 100. Candle Making for 25 people is $2,079 with continental US shipping included. Every activity page shows the price for your headcount.

Can you run a holiday party for 300 people in several countries?

Yes. Either one hosted game where 300 people play in breakout teams, or parallel activity tracks where each person picks a game or a kit workshop, planned as a multi-event program. Kits to Canada and other countries need booking about 5 weeks ahead; for a December 16, 2026 party that means by November 11.

Do your events run on Google Meet, Teams or Zoom?

Zoom by default, and Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. Music Bingo runs on Zoom only. Tell us your platform when you book.

Where do team building kits ship?

Continental US shipping is included. Canada, Alaska and Hawaii, US territories and international addresses are add-on charges per kit, and each kit's page shows where it can go. Each guest's kit goes to their own address and is tracked.

How far ahead should we book?

About 2 weeks for hosted games, 3 weeks for kit workshops going to US addresses, 5 weeks when any guest is in Canada or abroad, and 4 weeks for custom questions or branding.

Can every manager book for their own team?

Yes. Each team gets a free team account to book and track its events. The enterprise program adds catalog approval, SSO and a monthly budget per team, and you can pay by card, invoice or PO.
