- 2Time every round. About a minute for quick finds, longer when people tell the story behind an item.
- 3Score out loud. Points for the first find and the best story. One person keeps the tally.

Find these 5 things
Start the clock, grab each item within reach, and tap it as you find it.
How a hosted hunt plays
Everything runs on your usual video call, with breakout rooms and chat. The host handles the clock, the rules and the score.
- 1
Teams form
Your host welcomes everyone on the main call, explains the rules and splits the group into teams in breakout rooms. - 2
The hunt is on
Each round puts prompts on screen. Players dash for things around them, from the junk drawer to the bookshelf, and bring them back on camera. - 3
Reshuffle and score
Near the midpoint the host can mix the teams so people meet new faces, then tallies the points and names the winners.

Remote, in the office or hybrid
The same hosted hunt works wherever your team sits. Here is how to set it up for each.
Fully remote
Home offices make great hunting grounds: kitchens, bookshelves and junk drawers all count, and the show and tell is half the fun.
In the office
Keep prompts to desks and shared spaces like the kitchen or supply shelf, so nobody rummages through a colleague's drawers.
Hybrid
Put the host on a dedicated room screen the office can see and hear, ideally with a camera and mic on the room, and test the link beforehand. The room plays as a team.
Running it in the office yourself? The free guide has five office prompts to start with.
Big group? Every team hunts at the same time, so nobody stands around. Bigger groups get more teams, each in its own breakout room, and we may add a tech assistant alongside the host. Company-wide, we have run a single 60-minute event for 1,000 registered employees across four parallel activity tracks: see multi-event programs.

What our clients say
Trusted by teams at
Virtual scavenger hunt questions
How does a virtual scavenger hunt work?
A host shares prompts on your video call and players race to find each item around them, then show it on camera. Teams work in breakout rooms, and the host keeps the time and the score. A hosted hunt runs about an hour.
What do players need?
A device on the video call with a camera. Scavenger Hunt with a Twist! also asks for pen and paper; Team Discovery Challenge uses a phone to scan a QR code, or a web browser. Nothing ships, so 2 weeks' notice is enough.
Is there a free virtual scavenger hunt for remote employees?
Yes. Play the 60-second desk hunt on this page, or take the 50 free prompts, random picker and printable sheet in our virtual scavenger hunt ideas guide.
Can we run a scavenger hunt in the office or with a hybrid team?
Yes. In the office, keep prompts to desks and shared spaces. For hybrid groups, put the host on a dedicated room screen the office can see and hear, ideally with a camera and mic on the room, and test the link beforehand.
How many people can play?
Small teams and big groups both work. Bigger groups get more teams, each in its own breakout room, and we may add a tech assistant. For company-wide events, we have run a single 60-minute event for 1,000 registered employees across four parallel activity tracks.
Which video platforms do you use?
Zoom by default; Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex on request. The hunt uses breakout rooms and chat; if we play on your meeting link, your event coordinator can schedule a quick tech check first.
Can you customize the hunt?
Yes. Scavenger Hunt with a Twist! and Team Discovery Challenge can add new questions, your goals and custom backgrounds; some requests cost extra. Customizations need at least 4 weeks' notice, and most experiences can run shorter or longer on request.
How much does a virtual scavenger hunt cost?
Team Discovery Challenge starts at $875 for up to 25 people (about $35 each), and Scavenger Hunt with a Twist! starts at $975 for up to 25 people (about $39 each). You see the full price before you book, and a 50% deposit holds the date.
