Virtual company anniversary celebration

A virtual company anniversary celebration is one 90-minute call every office can join: the founder's story, a then-and-now segment, and a live-hosted game with a trivia round about your company's history. Add a kit everyone opens together for the toast.

Hosted games book 2 weeks ahead · A round about your company needs 4 weeks

Coworkers in an office meeting room raise glasses toward a wall screen of remote colleagues on a video call, with opened gift boxes and a cake on the table

A 90-minute anniversary run of show

You own the first 23 minutes: the story. A live host runs the game. Everyone raises a glass at the end.

  1. 0:00Doors open · youAsk everyone to type the year they joined in the chat. Cheer the earliest one.
  2. 0:05Welcome · the CEOThree minutes: the number, and thanks to the people who got the company here.
  3. 0:08The founder story · a founderThe first office, the first customer, the near miss. Record it ahead if they can't join live.
  4. 0:16Then and now · youSix slides, each a pair: the first office and today's, the first product and today's, headcount then and now.
  5. 0:23The hosted game · your hostMixed teams across offices and start years, with a round of questions about your company's history.
  6. 1:23The toast · everyoneGlasses up and cameras on, with one line from a leader. Open the kit now if you shipped one.

What to gather first

  • Photos of the first office, the first team and the first product.
  • Ten firsts with dates: first customer, first hire, first city, first launch.
  • Headcount and office count, then and now.
  • A short founder interview on video, as a backup to going live.
  • Your anniversary mark, for the slides and the host's backgrounds.

Founders and early hires have the photos. Ask them six weeks out.

A 10th, a 25th or a 50th

The number changes who is in the room, and that changes what carries the hour.

  • 10th year

    Who is in the room

Founders and many early hires still work here. Most people know the story first hand.

    What carries the hour

The founders tell it live. Put one early hire on every game team so the history round stays fair.

  • 25th year

    Who is in the room

A few people from the early years remain. Most joined in the last decade.

    What carries the hour

Then and now carries it. Invite alumni who built the early years: a hosted game needs only the link.

  • 50th year

    Who is in the room

Nobody from the first years is still at work, and the company spans offices or countries.

    What carries the hour

Record retirees' memories ahead, run the party in two sessions for two time-zone groups, and send every employee a gift.

A show for the big number

When the hour should feel like an event, not a meeting. One flat price for the group.

How the company history round works

The part only your company can have. It needs about 4 weeks, so ask for it first.

  1. 1Ask for it in your quote at least 4 weeks before the date. Some requests cost extra, and you see the price first.
  2. 2Send 15 to 20 facts with dates and numbers: the founding year, the first city, launches, headcount.
  3. 3Add your anniversary mark if you want custom backgrounds on the host's screens.
  4. 4Your questions join the game, so new hires still have rounds they can win.

Questions that work

  • Guess the number: how many people worked here in year one?
  • Put three launches in the order they happened.
  • Which city was the first office in?
  • Who said it: a line from the founder interview, or from the CEO this year?
  • Skip anything only the first ten hires could know.

Virtual company anniversary questions

How do you celebrate a company anniversary virtually?

Hold one 90-minute video call every office can join: a welcome from the CEO, the founder story, a then-and-now segment, a hosted game with a round about your company's history, and a toast. Book a live host for the game, so your team can enjoy it too.

What are good company anniversary event ideas for remote teams?

A founder story told live or on video, then-and-now slides, a trivia round about your history, a kit everyone opens together for the toast, and a gift shipped to every home. For a longer list by milestone, see our company anniversary ideas.

Can the trivia be about our company's history?

Yes. Ask in your quote at least 4 weeks before the date and send 15 to 20 facts with dates and numbers. The host adds a round about your company to the game, and can use custom backgrounds with your anniversary mark. Some requests cost extra; you see the price first.

How do we include several offices and time zones?

Pick the hour that covers most people, such as 11 AM in New York and 4 PM in London. Offices can gather in one room and play as one team. With big groups in both the Americas and Asia, run the same party twice and record the founder story once.

How much does a virtual company anniversary celebration cost?

A hosted game is one booking with the host included: Trivia with a Twist! is $2,075 for 150 guests at today's price, and every product on this page shows its price for your headcount. A company history round may cost extra. Kits are a base fee plus a price per guest. A 50% deposit holds the date, and you can pay by card or invoice.

How far ahead should we book?

About 2 weeks for a hosted game or show, 4 weeks for a round about your company, 21 days for a kit with US guests, and about 5 weeks with anyone in Canada or abroad.

Can we ship something to everyone for the toast?

Yes. A kit workshop ships one kit to every guest: continental US shipping is included, and Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and US territories, and other countries are an added charge per kit. Cocktail kits with spirits need an adult (21+) to sign, and non-alcoholic kits are available.

What should we give employees for the company anniversary?

One gift for everyone, shipped to each home before the party: a chocolate gift box, or a gift with your anniversary mark on it. For one person's work anniversary rather than the company's, see employee anniversary gifts.
