Teacher appreciation gifts

Teacher appreciation gifts for the whole staff

The best teacher appreciation gifts from a PTA or school go to the whole staff at one budget, plus a treat for the staff lounge, at the front office before Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3 to 7, 2027. Our gifts start at $22.

A gift for everyone in the building

The best teacher appreciation gifts from a school go to the whole staff at one budget, so nobody in the building is left out.

This page is for a PTA, a principal or a district buying for a whole staff. A parent buying for one teacher can order any single gift on the price list; check your school's policy on gifts from families first, or give through the PTA's staff gift instead.

Who is on the staff list

  • Classroom teachers and specialists: art, music, PE, library
  • Paraprofessionals and classroom aides
  • The front office, the principal and assistant principals
  • Counselors, the school nurse and support staff
  • Custodians and cafeteria staff
  • Bus drivers and crossing guards who serve your school

A plan for Teacher Appreciation Week 2027

Teacher Appreciation Week 2027 runs Monday, May 3 to Friday, May 7. One thing a day, and two of the five are free.

  1. Mon, May 3

A treat in the staff lounge

A big box or tower opened before the first bell. One per lounge if your building has two.

  2. Tue, May 4

    Notes from students

Room parents collect a card from each class. It costs nothing and it is what teachers keep.

  3. Wed, May 5

    An hour together after dismissal

A hosted game on the library screen or from home, 60 minutes, ending on time.

  4. Thu, May 6

    Parents cover a duty

Volunteers take lunch or recess duty so staff get a real break.

  5. Fri, May 7

    A gift in every mailbox

The same gift for every person on the staff list, with a card from the PTA.

National PTA has marked the first full week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week since 1984. Some districts pick their own week, so check yours before you set dates.

When to order teacher appreciation gifts

Have everything at the front office by Friday, April 30, 2027, the school day before the week starts. Many districts take spring break in April, so order before it.

Ordering for a school: who pays and where it goes

PTA money, a principal's fund or a district purchase all work. What changes is who signs off and who signs for the boxes.

  • Start from the office's staff list.

Ask the front office for the full list, not the teacher directory, and order two or three extra for subs and new hires.

  • PTA: get a written quote first.

Your treasurer and the board can approve a fixed number before anyone pays.

  • Principal or district: one quote for the order.

A written price for the whole order is what the school bookkeeper or the purchasing office asks for.

  • Deliver to the front office on a school day.

Not on a weekend or during spring break, when nobody is there to sign for it.

  • Label it for the PTA.

"Staff appreciation, hold for the PTA" on the label keeps boxes out of classrooms before Friday.

  • Ask about allergies quietly.

Every gift here is chocolate. Check with the office or the school nurse before you order.

Teacher appreciation gift questions

What are good teacher appreciation gifts from a PTA?

One gift for every person on the staff list, the same for everyone, with a card from the families: a chocolate gift box or truffle collection works for almost anyone. Add a bigger box for the staff lounge on Monday and an hour together after school during the week.

When is Teacher Appreciation Week 2027?

National PTA has marked the first full week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week since 1984. In 2027 that is Monday, May 3 to Friday, May 7. Some districts set their own week, so check your district calendar.

When should we order teacher appreciation gifts?

For gifts at the front office by Friday, April 30, 2027, order by Friday, April 9, and no later than Friday, April 16. Logo gifts or one order for a whole district need 4 to 6 weeks: order by Friday, March 19, 2027. If your spring break falls in April, order before it.

How much should a PTA spend per teacher?

There's no standard amount. Pick one budget and give the same gift to everyone. Our gifts start at $22, so a staff of 60 costs $1,320 at that level before shipping, and a $1,500 budget still leaves room for two shared boxes for the lounge.

Should we include staff who aren't teachers?

Yes. Paraprofessionals, the front office, custodians, cafeteria staff, the school nurse and bus drivers all keep the school running. Ask the front office for the full staff list and order two or three extra for subs and new hires.

I'm a parent buying for one teacher. Is this page for me?

It is written for a PTA, principal or district buying for a whole staff, but any single gift on the price list can be ordered on its own. Check your school's policy on gifts from families first, or add to the PTA's staff gift instead.

Can the gifts be delivered to the school?

Yes. Ship the whole order to the front office on a school day, labeled for the PTA, so someone can sign for it and keep the boxes out of classrooms until gift day. Avoid weekends and spring break.

Can we add the school's logo?

Yes, on custom logo gifts. Branded orders take 4 to 6 weeks and minimums are typically 10 units per product, so order in March for Teacher Appreciation Week.

What about allergies?

Every gift on this page is chocolate. Check with the front office or the school nurse before you order, look at each product's ingredient details, and ask us for an alternative for anyone who can't have it.

Thank everyone in the building

Tell us your staff count, your school or district and your budget per person, and we'll come back with a gift plan and a quote you can take to the PTA board.
